Why I don't "do" Black Friday

I am thankful, however, that Carol got up in the dark for many years, to head out for the Christmas shopping on the day after Thanksgiving, then I'd be up a few hours later and out painting Christmas windows earning more $$ to spend on presents. The best part of that first day of painting; I'd take a couple of turkey & cranberry sandwiches with me. Thanksgiving ~ sandwiches and left overs are the best part. Due to broken collar bone in 1984, I took Rick Barker painting with me. Without him, I couldn't have kept up with my schedule that year. I painted holiday & Christmas windows for at least 20 years. . .then it was suddenly not fun any more. It was a good run. Happy Thanksgiving everyone !!

Haha. Love the cartoon. I'm so going to be out bright and early on Black Friday though!

I had forgotten you painted windows. I think you did ours once or twice n good ol' New York Ave.

I remember seeing the windows you did when I was little because we would come down to Vegas for Xmas. You are a great artist!!

Sadly, now that I have grandsons, I could paint our windows for, I've tossed all that painting stuff! I enjoyed painting where the little ones lived.

I've always loved shopping after Thanksgiving and I miss driving around to look at the windows you painted.

I remember some of those paintings! I would sit in awe looking at them! It's interesting when "fun" isn't "fun" anymore! I wish you still painted them!
