See things in a whole new light. Get your rose-colored glasses today. . . but before you do, have you wondered where this idea originated? A quick google search indicated two possible ways. One, being that the romantic artwork during the Victorian Age of the 17th century, the viewer associated these paintings of flowers & rose gardens with optimism, such as "painting a rosy picture." Another theory is that early mapmakers used rose petals to keep their glasses scratch-free. Through time, rose-colored stains formed and hence, they looked at their maps through these rose-colored glasses. Some say optimism is a way of cooping with the negativity in life, as obstacles are always put in our paths. My family are my rose-colored glasses: my hope, love and my life. As Carol so eloquently put it once, "you have your crap, I have mine." If we dwell on it, it still won't improve. If we ignore it, it will still be there. We all have them, just different degrees. Personally, I like my plain RayBan's. . .

I love seeing my world through rose colored glasses. It's so pretty then!!
I've never owned a pair of rose colored glasses, so I'll never know what it is like to have such a rosy view of things.
Great post! Sometimes I think I need to put my rosy glasses on!
I love the saying "We tend to seek happiness, when happiness is actually a choice"! My other favorite is "We are responsibile for our OWN happiness". I love the rose colored glasses info! Thanks
I actually had rose tinted glasses once, and didn't like them at all. I do, however, believe in looking on the bright side. My problems aren't so bad, when compared to someone else's!
Another interesting post. Ah, the things we all learn when reading your blog!
