The party's over.

Knowing Cohen was going back to Vegas soon (and even though we'd already been to the park earlier this morning) I felt the need for more time with him. I caught him with, "Let's play." With the help of Lindsay, I found him hiding under the covers; he was so small I missed him the first time.

He's such a happy boy - most of the time - and it seems so quiet after he (and the rest of the family leaves). Even though I know I'll see him soon. It's an emotional roller coaster. The quiet immediately after they leave is loud and very apparent. Quiet should be good for an old guy like me.

The back yard is void of energy. Rubber horseshoes and ball are idle and left to be put away.

The patio race-track will remain unused, waiting patiently for the return of its necessary rider. Unless Carol decides to take a few runs.I'm reminded of how Carol's grandmother had told us how she once refused to wash the small hand prints of her rear sliding glass doors after our visit when Andrea & Tracey were little ones. I didn't fully comprehend her feelings then. I do now. Thankfully, we're not in Texas as she was.
Then I think of our ancestors who, some never saw kids, grandkids, or family again once they left home for the "New World" or "the Promised Land" and how hard that must have been! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Enjoy them while we can.

I'm missing the noise and wish you guys were still here. I had so much fun with Cohen this weekend.

You guys are the cutest grandparents! Our old neighbor told us that on Easter he watched home videos of when his kids were young. He told us he misses them being little. The time just goes by way too fast!

My guess is that you have the gift of being a good Grandpa (or whatever name you use in it's place) The Monkey boys are lucky to be able to spend so much time with you guys.

When Carol takes that ride, be sure to snap a picture of it!! Time really does go by quickly, too quickly!
